Job Description:

Our client is seeking a versatile and innovative engineer to join their engineering team to focus on the Electronics and Firmware aspects of their innovative consumer products. This role is a growth position for a well-rounded engineer who wants to have their hands in all aspects of the design and development of niche consumer products.The ideal candidate will have experience in prototyping, test development, along with experience with electronics design and embedded controls. An understanding of compliance processes and exposure to UL and other industry standards is desired as well.Responsibilities will grow to include:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and validate products.
• Design, develop, and test embedded systems and electrical components for consumer products.
• Ensure that all designs meet relevant UL standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop embedded firmware and software to support hardware designs.
• Contribute to the design of electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and system integration.
• Work on full product lifecycle development, from concept through to production.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of documentation for regulatory approvals.
• Participate in project management activities, including engineering change orders and project timelines.
• Participate in assembling and testing stands, providing insights into electrical production processes.
• Conduct validation experiments to ensure product safety, compliance, and performance.Background Profile: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in testing, prototyping, and fabrication, particularly electro-mechanical systems. Experience working to UL standards and other regulatory requirements desired and familiarity with regulatory compliance processes beneficial. Background in electronics and PCB design helpful Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver on time.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in designing thermodynamic-related devices (air/fluid handling)
  • Foundational knowledge of embedded controls and software development
  • Knowledge of mobile app development and integration with hardware products.
  • Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies.
